The Caroline Guitar Company CROM is a silicon fuzz and distortion pedal built around the character of the classic Supa Tone Bender, with a more focused, amp-like response and a wide range of gain.
Using BC184 silicon transistors, the CROM delivers thick, aggressive fuzz with plenty of midrange presence, moving from gritty overdrive and crunchy distortion into saturated, harmonically rich fuzz.
The circuit is highly responsive to playing dynamics and guitar volume, allowing it to clean up into rough-edged overdrive or push into dense, sustaining fuzz. Its voicing keeps the fundamental character of a vintage British fuzz while offering a tighter and more controlled response.
