Empty Head Effects Falling Man Experimental Lo-fi Delay Pedal

Falling Man from Empty Head Effects is an experimental lo-fi delay pedal with a unique set of controls for exploring the esoteric side of music and sound design. The pedal provides three main knobs: Stride, which controls the delay time, Pace, which increases or decreases the amount of repeats, and Fall, which is where things start to get strange... The Fall control modules the Stride control, turning it into a dynamic and reactive parameter by rising and falling as the intensity of your playing increases or decreases. As the Fall knob is turned beyond 50%, the dynamic modulation becomes more and more unruly, morphing the delays of your sounds into a flurry of pitch bending, divebombing madness.

The Stumble / Trip toggle switch takes the Falling Man into a whole other category of effect. Delays immediately go from what once resembled a traditional sound, to heavy, unpredictable chaos. The pedal also becomes noticeably more lo-fi, with the delays providing a grittier, more distorted sound than with the switch disengaged. Finally, every parameter on the Falling Man is turned up to ten; the repeats waver, the textures wobbles, and the pitch effect from the Fall control becomes even more pronounced. This means that each setting set to max on the Falling Man will behave differently depending on if you have the Stumble / Trip switch engaged or not. The circuit is designed with the PT2399 delay chip, a particularly lo-fi sounding chip with a lot of added sonic character, especially when delays are being modulated to such extremes.
