Decay Cascade from Normal Devices is a unique distortion and reverb pedal that blends layered reverb and cascading gain stages to produce complex, disintegrated textures. Based around the sounds of running reverb into distortion, the Decay Cascade is perfect as a dedicated dirt machine, lo-fi degrader, or otherworldly acid bath for obliterating any signal. On the right side of the pedal, controls for reverb level and decay time enable everything from subtle resonance to deeply drenched tones, with a three-position Mode switch giving access to diverse time-bending algorithms. Create haunting reverberations in the Hall with Pitch Drift algorithm, dive deep into resonant warbles with Long Spring, or cultivate dark echoes with the Bucket-Brigade Echo mode. In any flavor, the reverb is then sent to a character rich drive stage with onboard voltage sag gate, mixing together at the Mix knob. From blown out fuzz to spitty velcro tones, the combination of the drive and voltage sag circuits provide a wide range of destructive distortions for dialing in decadently decayed tones.

At the output stage, the signal is fed through a preamp circuit inspired by 1960s research equipment, adding even more saturation and crackling gated reverb tails. Select between three flavors of this preamp, with transparent, high gain with low pass filter, or high gain with no filter options available. Finally, an output Volume control allows you to tame these generous gain stages back down to operable levels, ensuring the perfect level for your downstream equipment.
