Originally built for the Japanese domestic market, the BB2000 is widely regarded by session elite as one of the finest passive PJ-style basses ever created.This player’s grade vintage icon features a rock-solid 5-piece maple/mahogany neck-through-body design flanked by resonant alder wings. The premium, dark Macassar ebony fretboard is accented by Yamaha’s signature mother-of-pearl oval inlays and a nickel-silver metal nut for unmatched, singing sustain.Tonally, it’s a monster. It features Yamaha’s unique reversed split-coil P pickup for incredible low-end definition, paired with a high-output single-rail blade bridge pickup that delivers pure, quiet growl.
