The Kilobyte 2000 is a modern reimagining of Caroline’s cult-favourite delay pedal, building on the original Kilobyte introduced in 2013. Often described by players as a "gateway to boutique pedals," the original earned a reputation for delivering a character and feel unlike anything else on the market.

The core sound remains intact: warm, textured, and wonderfully unpredictable. But the Kilobyte 2000 expands on the original design with a host of enhanced features, including sought-after modifications that first appeared on the Megabyte release in 2020.

The result is a familiar yet more capable version of a modern classic, offering all the charm of the original while pushing the concept further than ever before.

The Kilobyte has always been more than just a lo-fi delay. Its intentionally limited dynamic range and frequency response set it apart not only from other digital delays of its era, but also from many devices built around the popular PT-2399 "karaoke echo" chip.
Rather than smoothing out its imperfections to imitate an analogue delay, the design embraces them. 

A dedicated drive preamp on the wet signal allows the repeats to be pushed into saturation, creating everything from subtle grit to gloriously broken, degraded echoes.

It's a uniquely characterful device that continues to inspire players looking for something beyond clean, predictable delay sounds.
