Fish Circuits Echo Limiteur Hybrid Analog / Digital Delay Pedal

The Echo Limiteur from Fish Circuits is a hybrid analog and digital delay with a unique limiter circuit for controlling the typically untamable sound of high-feedback delays. A number of controls allow you to adjust this limiter in response to the dynamics of your playing, allowing you to dip into the beautiful and chaotic sound of infinitely self-oscillating delays, and cut those feedback loops off before they spin out of control.

The Echo Limiteur provides two channels of delay, Swell A and Swell B, with Swell B being the delay affected by the limiter circuit, while A offers more standard delay behavior. Define how sensitive and aggressive the limiter is with the Limit knob; when turned counterclockwise, the limiter will behave less sensitively and less aggressively towards your sound, while turning the knob clockwise will cause the limiter to become very sensitive to incoming audio, creating a hard limiting sound. The Trig toggle switch allows you to choose what "triggers" the limiter, meaning that in the Dry position, the limiter will be activated by the dynamics of your incoming dry signal reaching your defined threshold, while the wet position allows you to use the pedal's outgoing effect signal to engage that threshold. There's also an additional third option for both wet and dry, allowing you to delve deeper into that chaotic-feedback-loop delay sound, without the delays spiraling off into infinity.

The Release toggle switch defines how slowly or quickly the limiter will stop limiting, with an additional middle position provided for a more natural release time. This release switch, in tandem with the Limit knob, controls how the limiter responds, allowing you to set the reactivity of the Echo Limiteur to best fit your playing style. Control the delay time with the Echo knob, which gives you a wide range of delay sounds in combination with the Range toggle switch, which can significantly extend the overall range of the potential delay times. At longer delay times, the Echo Limiteur kicks in the PT2399 chip, which provides a crunchier, even more lo-fi sound than the standard repeats.
